On Thursday 23 April 2020 Cabinet discussed the options for the Avenue Road Estate. Cabinet decided that its preferred option is a full regeneration of the Avenue Road Estate.

The regeneration will not go ahead until there has been a resident ballot which demonstrates support for this option. The ballot will take place in January 2021.

The Avenue Road estate was built in the early 1960s to help solve the severe housing shortage after the Second World War

The blocks of flats on the estate were built using large panel system construction, which was an efficient way of building that helped to solve the housing shortage at the time.

Having listened to what residents have had to say, we have begun to look at how we can accommodate those needs into a well thought out plan for the Avenue Road Estate.

Here is what we have so far...these proposals are subject to change as the project progresses
